NYS 11th Assembly District
Hello, my name is Kimberly Jean-Pierre and I'm the current Assemblywoman for the New York State 11th Assembly District. I represent Amityville, Copiague, Lindenhurst, Wyandanch, Wheatley Heights, West Babylon, North Babylon, Deer Park and East Farmingdale. As a mother I understand the day-to-day struggles families face, because I face them too – trying to get ahead while dealing with the high cost of living on Long Island. Long Island is a great place to live and raise a family, but the high cost of living is driving people away. We need to change that. That is why in the Assembly, I have fought to lower property taxes and continue the tax cap, bring new jobs to our community through infrastructure funding, increase the minimum wage and made paid family leave a reality – all important steps to help ensure everyone can afford to live and raise a family here on Long Island. We’ve accomplished a lot, but we’re just getting started. Together, I believe we can build a stronger, brighter community for our families.
Jean-Pierre fought to get our schools the funding they were owed to provide all students with a quality education and help keep property taxes down. She helped to fully restore the Gap Elimination Adjustment (GEA), and increase Foundation Aid to our public schools.
Jean-Pierre secured vital infrastructure funding,
which will help create new jobs and boost the economy. She also secured funding for the downtown revitalization initiative and supports tax cuts that will help small businesses grow.
In the Assembly, Jean-Pierre lowered taxes for the middle class, got more funding for our schools and is working to make our streets safer, because she's committed to making Babylon better for all of us.
Jean-Pierre cut taxes for the middle class, and supported extending the property tax cap for families devastated by Superstorm Sandy. She also raised the minimum wage and made paid family leave a reality so families don’t have to struggle to make ends meet.
Kimberly Jean-Pierre helped pass legislation to strip pensions from corrupt politicians because your tax dollars should never go to elected officials who broke the law.
